If you are considering a bathroom makeover or just have an old tub you need to replace, there are a lot of options out there today when it comes to getting a new tub.

Here’s a checklist of things to consider before you buy:

Style – One of the first things you are going to need to consider is the style of the tub you want. This will in part depend on the decor you have going on in your bathroom. If you are going for a more modern look you may want a tub with a sleek design. If you have an old country or Victorian feel, you may want a freestanding four-footed tub to suit that theme.

Location – Where are you going to put the tub. Whether you are going to want a traditional wall tub, one that fits in a corner or a different space will depend on how you are trying to make the best use of space in your bathroom.

Soak or Shower? – Do you use your bathtub as a tub regularly or is it just the container your shower is in? This will make a difference in deciding whether you want a bathtub with comfort features for a soaking bath or if you want something simple that acts as mainly a base for your shower.

Soaking Room – If you know you will regularly take baths, you need to consider the size of the tub you are putting in your bathroom. A small, normal tub does not give you the space you need to stretch out and really soak. You may want to look for larger soaking tubs where you can remain comfortable as you kick back.

Whirlpool – Instead of just taking a typical bath, do you want to feel like you are at the spa? Perhaps you want to look into Whirlpool tubs that offer massaging jets to give you that spa feeling while you are getting clean.

All of these decisions will need to be made and once you know what you want, you will be able to pinpoint the perfect tub for your home.
